How It Works

A DIFFERENT WAY OF UNDERSTANDING HEALING

Have you ever found yourself thinking...

"I know what I should do... so why does it still feel so hard?"

So many of us carry stress, anxiety, or overwhelm in ways that aren't simply solved by understanding them.

We read the books.

We learn the strategies.

We try our very best.

Yet something still seems to get in the way.

What if the missing piece isn't more information?

What if it's helping your nervous system experience enough safety to respond differently?

Why The Body?

Stress and trauma don't just affect the way we think.

They affect the way we experience the world.

When we're overwhelmed, our nervous system naturally shifts into survival, making it difficult to access the parts of the brain responsible for reflection, problem-solving, and connection.

Rather than trying to think our way out of overwhelm, SRT takes a gentle, body-centred approach that helps create experiences of safety from which healing can begin.

Developed by Dr. Reggie Melrose, SRT builds on the principles of Somatic Experiencing while offering an especially gentle, attuned, and practical approach to healing through the nervous system.

Healing begins with safety.

You don't have to tell your whole story.

One of the things people are often most surprised to discover is that you don't have to talk through every difficult experience to benefit from this work.

Some people choose to.

Others don't.

Both are completely okay.

There are no right or wrong answers.

Together, we'll gently explore your present experience, allowing your nervous system to guide the process at a pace that feels right for you.

How We’ll Work Together

The work is both deeply restorative and wonderfully practical.

What Becomes Possible

Healing isn't about becoming someone different.

It's about becoming more fully yourself.

As your nervous system begins to experience greater safety, many people notice they feel more grounded, more present, and more able to respond to life's challenges in ways that reflect who they truly are.

When we feel more connected to ourselves, we become more available for meaningful connection with the people we love.

Beginning Where You Are

Whether you arrive knowing exactly why you're here or simply with a sense that something doesn't feel quite right, you are welcome.

We'll simply begin where you are.

Sometimes even a small experience of relief is enough to remind us that healing is possible.

Wondering if this approach is right for you?
